Good question – A Grab lorry is a vehicle perfect for clearing away large amounts of waste from difficult to reach areas such as behind walls or fences.  They operate using a giant hydraulic arm and large ‘grabbing’ buckets.

They are around 8ft 6″ wide so you will need to make sure there is a minimum of 3 metres of  space for us to get through to where you need the lorry to go to and operate from.

When empty Grab lorries weigh around 16 tonnes. They can take up to 16 tonnes of waste. In terms of volume and depending on the material being carried – this is between 12 and 15 cubic metres.

The material we can carry are:
Soil, Muck, Aggregates, concrete and topsoil, this is classed as inert waste.

Unfortunately, we can’t take hazardous or contaminated waste or general mixed waste either.

If any of the items listed above are found in the load – there would be an extra charge for haulage and tonnage as it would have to be tipped at a specific site. If you aren’t sure about the material, please call us today or drop us a line using our contact form.

Where you leave your waste for collection is crucial to the efficiency of its removal.  Make sure it is out in the open, away from low hanging tree branches and cables.

Please allow space for the driver to pull up directly alongside the waste.
